On the Feast of the Annunciation
of Our Lord to the Blessed Virgin
Mary in 2004 a new altar piece
was dedicated to the Glory of
God. The artist of the piece
is Fr John Pelling who is an
Associate of the Royal College
of Art. Fr John has completed
various commissions for churches,
chapels and private collectors.
He has a studio in both London
and the South of France. The
painting follows the classical
composition of the Blessed Virgin
and the Archangel Gabriel, with
imagery of the four Gospel writers,
the sinlessness of Mary and
a challenge for us all to join
with the Virgin in accepting
God’s vocation to be a Christian
