Lent at St Gabriel’s
Please use the prayer cards to give us requests for prayer each week. These are remembered during the daily mass.
The Lent evenings on Thursdays will follow the 6pm Mass with Fish & Chip supper at 6.45 and Lent Talk at 7.15pm on how the spirituality of the communities to which they belong support them in their lives. Names for supper in advance if possible.

  • Feb 25th Revd Simon Reed (from the Ascension) will talk about the Community of Aidan and Hilda, drawing from Celtic spirituality to support faith in daily life.
  • March 4th Andrew Pettman will talk about the Antioch and Sword of the Spirit community of which he is part.
  • March 11th Fr Callan will talk about the Focolare with involvement from other local members. To be held at 57 Twyford Avenue, W3 9PZ. Lifts available.
  • March 19th Fr Paul will talk about the Franciscan Third Order, a community for those living our their vocation in the midst of daily life.

Servers – new volunteers are invited for this important role in our worship – adults or children (min age 9 or 10 years). Training morning on Sat March 13th 10.30.

News during the interregnum – as a preliminary stage before advertising for a new priest, the PCC are working with a team from the deanery on a series of tasks. As part of the first task, we are looking at the history of the church and we would really like to hear what you know about St Gabriel’s as it has been in the recent or distant past - particularly, significant events for you (eg marriage, baptisms, funerals, renewal of wedding vows, the first time you came etc).

The churchwardens have a big book and invite you to add your memories and thoughts today or during the week. The next meeting with the deanery visitors is this Wednesday and some of the team will also be with us later in the month and during Lent.
