| St Gabriel's North Acton has been
in existence for a little over 75
years. During that time the clergy
and people have served the local area
in being a tangible Christian presence.
The large and imposing building may
be seen from all about and speaks
of the solidness and unchanging love
that God has for all his people. The
various congregations throughout the
time that St Gabriel's has existed
have worked tirelessly to help extend
the Kingdom of God and show his love
for all in need.
As part of the Mission of Jesus to
the world, we at St Gabriel's offer
to you a warm and encouraging welcome.
We continue helping to build the Kingdom
of God for the community of North
Acton. We welcome into the worshipping
community and hope you will feel welcome,
at ease and in a prayerful situation
with the living God. Our public and
private prayer, proclamation of the
Gospel and pastoral care for all in
need are the main ways in which we
live our faith. We welcome you…

Building the Vision
After an amazing amount of commitment
by so many, the first part of
Building the Vision has come to an
end. If I may take you back it was in
April that we had our first meeting
and a good number of the congregation
attended. After that, we had two
further meetings in May and June, and
in July we had a feed back session
with time to plan for the future.
Having had an extensive consultation
time with the congregation, the feed
back has given us some areas which
need further effort and enthusiasm, to
build on what is already in place. In
the light of this, before the summer
holidays, five areas of extra need
have been identified, and these are:
· Continuation of the Stewardship
programme for the Autumn of 2008.
· Communication and evangelisation.
Ways in which we communicate with our
own members, with those who seek God
and the wider community.
To utilise all methods of
communication, both old and new as
means of spreading the Good News and
how St Gabriel's participates in that.
· Education and nurture. How we build
up the Body of Christ to be more
effective communicators and disciples.
How we might develop the tools of
understanding the Christian faith and
equipping the people of God.
· By our use of our buildings and
plant to be the best and most
effective tools in helping to build up
the kingdom of God here in this
particular place.
· To review our Sunday liturgy in the
light of new material being made
available within Common Worship.
